Preheat the oven to 325 degrees
Combine the coconut, condensed milk, and vanilla in a large bowl
Whip the egg whites and salt on high speed in the bowl of an electric mixer
Carefully fold the egg whites into the coconut mixture
Drop the batter onto sheet pans lined with parchment paper using a tablespoon or other dough scooper
Bake for 30 minutes, until golden brown
To add chocolate drizzle; combine 2/3 cup of chocolate chips and 2/3 teaspoon of Crisco shortening in a bowl
Microwave the chocolate chips and shortening and mix them together
Pour the chocolate over cooled macaroons
