Equipment

  • 2 cookies sheets
  • 2 mixing bowls
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 wooden spoon

Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F
  • Lightly grease the two cookie sheets with butter
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix the flour, baking soda and salt
  • In another mixing bowl, beat softened butter and sugars with electric mixer on medium speed
  • Beat in the eggs and vanilla until smooth
  • Stir in the dry flour mixture until blended, and then stir in chocolate chips
  • Form the cookie dough into round balls of your desired size. I recommend splitting the dough into 24 total cookies
  • Bake 1 sheet at a time, using the center rack. Bake for 10 minutes, or until light brown
  • After 10 minutes, move the cookie sheet to the top row, and bake for an additional 2 minutes to crisp the cookies up.
  • Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and repeat the process with the other sheet
  • Cool down the cookies for at least 20 minutes before serving

Notes

To make the cookies extra special, consider browning the butter before mixing it in with the sugar.
