Equipment
- 1 BBQ
- 1 small pan
Ingredients
- 2 burger patties
- salt
- pepper
- Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- Brioche buns
- 1/2 white onion
- 1 tbsp butter
- sliced cheese whatever you like best
- any other toppings you like
Instructions
- Pre-salt and pepper the burger patties. Mix in one clove of minced garlic into each patty. Lightly splash the patties with Worcestershire sauce. Let the patties marinate for 30 minutes
- Slice half a white onion into long strips
- Bring 1 tbsp of butter to a boil in a small pan, over medium-high heat. Once the butter is bubbling, add in the sliced white onions, reduce to low heat, and cover the pan with a lid. Slow-cook the onions for approximately 25 minutes, and use tongs to stir and flip the onions every 3-5 minutes
- After 10 minutes of cooking the onions, heat up the BBQ to 500+ degrees. Once ready, sear the patties for 2 minutes on each side
- Reduce the BBQ heat to medium settings, and raise the patties to the top rack, out of direct flame. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes depending on the thickness of the patty + desired level of doneness
- Add a slice of your preferred cheese to the patties and let rest for 30 seconds, and then remove patties from the BBQ
- Lightly toast the brioche buns on the BBQ or in a toaster oven. Lightly butter the buns when toasted
- Assemble the cheeseburger! Top with the grilled onions and any additional toppings you prepared (lettuce, tomato, pickles, avocado, sautéed mushrooms, etc.), as well as any condiments (though the flavor will be so good, you probably don't need much)
